Summary / Reader Response Draft #4

Electric Vehicles   The electrifying technology behind Electric Vehicles (EVs), specifically Tesla models, has driven the transition toward solutions for automated transportation  (Armstrong, 2023). In the area of vehicle automation, the Autopilot system, developed by Tesla, leads the charge for the future of cars and transportation by merging cutting-edge hardware with advanced software. Autopilot is an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that enhances safety and convenience when driving. At its core, Autopilot employs 8 external cameras, ultrasonic sensors, radar, and a powerful onboard computer to perceive and interpret the surrounding environment (Tesla, n.d.).  Its key features include Traffic-Aware Cruise Control (TACC) , which adjusts the cruising speed of the vehicle to match surrounding traffic, Autosteer , to assist with steering on vehicular roads, and navigate with Autopilot, which enables automated lane changes and highway interchanges. Self Introduction #2

Subject: Hui Hao's Self-Introduction. Dear Professor Blackstone, I am writing to introduce myself to you as a student in your Critical thinking and Communicating class. My name is Hui Hao, I am a Year 1 mechanical engineering student from SIT. I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic in 2021 with a diploma in mechatronics specializing in aerospace system. I feel like mechanical engineering has always been a part of me since I was young. I used to love collecting Gunpla models when I was younger, which are mecha model kits that come with pre-molded plastic that can be snapped together without the use of glue or paint. I take great joy in assembling the parts, especially the process of understanding the mechanics and articulation of the parts. I find Gunplas to be a rewarding experience and it definitely brought an interest of robotics and exposed me to mechanical concepts like gears and joints. I therefore decided to take that passion and interest I have to pursue a diploma and degree...

Critical Reflection

Module learning: When I first entered this module, I thought that it would just be like any other communication class, similar to those that I have taken back in my polytechnic days. I knew my presentation skills were not perfect but I thought I only needed minor improvements, and as for my writing skills, I was confident that I am above average. However, through the weeks in this module, I have discovered that my thinking was no more than shallow and was wrong in my self-assessment. Throughout the trimester, I have been exposed to numerous writing skills, ranging from formal introduction email to formal research report. The tasks given were by no means an easy task and I often work on it for a long time as there were plenty of research to be done. However, this broadened my view of my writing skills and how subpar it is compared to my classmates. After every task, I found myself slowly improving and gaining confidence through the feedbacks offered by my peers as well as prof. These in...

My grade for student participation

I think I deserve an excellent for my student participation grade, I believe I have shown qualities of being enthusiastic in class activities as well as group activities. I have actively participated in open floor questions given out by prof and actively reaching out to learn more. I’m not shy in sharing my ideas out to the class or to prof, constantly reaching out to find new ideas. I also respect all of my classmates and work with them well. I genuinely believe I am an excellent student and deserve the grade.
